Exploring the Passeig de les Aigües in Barcelona

The “Passeig de les Aigües” stands out as a natural jewel in the Serra de Collserola Natural Park, providing visitors with a hiking experience with unparalleled panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.

Location and access

The Passeig de les Aigües begins on the Carretera de les Aigües, a forest track that follows the old water canal of the city. Accessing this route is easy, since it can be reached by public transport, by car or on foot from different points in Barcelona.

Car parking.

You have several places to park:

  • Mireia square . For my taste this is the best place, this is the most comfortable place because you have a picnic area, many alternatives to other routes and you have a restaurant, which fills up every weekend.
  • C. Manuel Arnús parking lot . This parking lot is very small and is usually full. This is the end of the route.

Arrive by public transportation.

To enjoy the ride, you can go by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (Peu del Funicular station). The bad thing about this option is that you stay right in the middle of the road.

Panoramic views of Barcelona

One of the main attractions of Passeig de les Aigües is the impressive panoramic view of Barcelona. From this route, walkers can enjoy spectacular views of the city skyline, the blue Mediterranean Sea and the majestic surrounding mountains. This diverse panorama creates a unique experience, being even more spectacular during sunset.

Inclusive hiking

Passeig de les Aigües is suitable for hikers of all levels. The Carretera de les Aigües is a well-maintained and wide track, perfect for families, runners and hikers. Those looking for a more intense challenge can explore secondary routes that venture deeper into the forest, offering steeper and more exciting terrain.

Biodiversity and nature

This natural area in the Serra de Collserola Natural Park is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna. The pine and oak forests provide habitat for various species of birds, butterflies and small mammals. Immersing yourself in this lush vegetation creates a natural and relaxing atmosphere in the middle of the city.

Tips to enjoy to the fullest

  • Prepare for the Mediterranean climate: Protect your skin with sunscreen, bring water, and wear comfortable clothing for the Mediterranean climate.
  • Take advantage of the sunset: Many visitors choose to take the walk at sunset to enjoy the city lights on.
